Dale's Cone of Experience
I went back to check my links and this document vanished. I tried to re-attach it in the original post but got the message that it was a "bad command". I will attach it here so that it will be part of my blog page. Dale's Cone of Experience

Web Quest
I have thoroughly enjoyed making my WebQuest. I chose a 3rd grade science lesson with most of the emphasis on the planets. There are links to each planet with a printable information sheet for the students to complete. I also would have the students write a short essay about an astronaut of their choice and then end the quest with an activity page link that includes some games. Here is my webquest.

Power point to movie
This was an exciting project! I'm already looking forward to having my 3rd graders make a power point movie next year. I built the ppt for my movie based on my podcast. It was for a first grade social studies lesson. I did have a little trouble getting it to load but I think it is working now. Where in the World am I?

Rubric
What a great site. I have made rubric pages for classroom activities and will definitely use this again. In our elementary classrooms we are required to have small group learning center time at least 3 times a week. Many of the teachers have a library center where students select their own book, read it, and them report back to the teacher or class. This rubric will help guide the expectations at that reading center.

jeopardy game
I chose to make my jeopardy game based on my podcast lesson. Once I figured out how to work with the template it was fun! I know students would enjoy reviewing the lesson with this game! I have used a jeopardy game in class before but not through power point. Using technology adds an element of excitement and interest. Try out the game!

power point presentation
I chose to use a power point presentation that I have presented in trainings several times. My job requires that I train parents to go into the classroom for read-aloud sessions. The power point give several ideas on getting and keeping student's attention while reading. It also gives ideas to make text real to them in their everyday lives.
When I uploaded it to google docs the animation and sounds were all deleted but I don't know how to change that so here it is anyway. My power point presentation.

podcast - lesson
Finally, I think my podcast is complete and functional - thanks to my college son!
When I saved my recording to the .wav the program added a copyright voice that interrupts me every few seconds but I could not figure out a way to make it go away.

podcast
I have finished the lesson script and the actual recording of the lesson for my podcast. I focused on a first grade history lesson based on maps. Within the lesson I taught vocabulary words, we compared flat maps and globes, and made student maps of our classroom. We also incorporated a student take home book and some internet activities. It makes me wish I was in a classroom to teach this! I embedded links on my lesson script to the lesson plan and my assessment.
I have read some of the difficulties that others have had trying to publish their podcast so I am nervous! Maybe by reading how others solved their problems I can get this task completed.

lesson 1
My lesson would be an online worksheet to help students learn their vocabulary words. As a class we would look at the new words for the story of the week. I would have discussion time to allow students the opportunity to define the words using kid friendly definitions. We would determine if those definitions were correct then they would type them into their chart. They would then insert a picture to help them visualize the word. I would then have them use the words in sentences. Image lesson.

sharing photo album
I am not having success sharing my album. I have tried to follow the directions from others but it is not working for me. I tried to add the link to my blog page but the album does not link properly. I'm really frustrated!

Per Capita Income
I knew that West Virginia was a poor state, I just didn't realize how little we have in comparison with other states. I don't understand all of the particulars just that title 1 services are based on the number of free and reduced lunch counts. I suppose that means that in D.C. (the highest per capita) they get very little title 1 assistance? I wonder how much the current economic changes will effect these readings. Per Capita Comparison Graph

NAEP scores graph
I used the link to "crappy graphs" to make my comparison chart for NAEP scores. The graph was fairly easy to use. I was sadly surprised to see that West Virginia falls consistently falls below the Nat. Average. I guess we need to focus more on our Math classes!

Image capture

I enjoy working with paint. Both my students and my children have also used the program.
I retrieved this through google images as a blackline master and then colored it. Students could do this to learn more about colors (following directions and coloring certain colors in specific areas). They could capture pictures that would build scenes for habitats, space, the ideas are unlimited. I saved this as a jpeg image.

Desktop graphic
I work with reading in my current job. Not having a classroom full of students limits my choices. I decided to choose one of the stories that we work with and creat a graphic based on the vocabulary words. I hope that I read the assignment correctly and am doing the right thing!
I used google docs. to make the chart then google images to find the clip art. The image is 47k.

Oops!!
Well, clearly that was not supposed to happen! I tried to follow the steps and expected my resume to link to my blog not attach as an open document. Now I don't know how to fix it.
Resume-
I have a resume saved on an older computer that I can not open and also on a jump drive - that I can not locate! I used a google template to make a new one but am having trouble getting it to upload to my blog! This class is going to be very difficult I'm afraid. Here is a copy of my resume.

Photo Story
I am enjoying working on my photo story! It is difficult to decide what pictures to post and what order to put them in though.
I plan to post mine to teachertube. I've never posted a movie before so I hope I can make it work! Good luck to all of you!
